CLOUDS PREMIERE

Wed May 21, 2008, 3:49 PM
Our University Animation Exposé day is tommorow (May 22nd)! This means my new animation "Clouds" and 16 other films from the students on my course will be on the big screen. If you go to [link] you will be able to watch a live stream, the animations should be starting at 4pm GMT and you should be able to see me making an arse of myself on stage. Bizarrely enough there's going to be a stream from a virtual version of the University campus in Second Life as well? But yeah. YOU CAN SEE THE PREMIERE.

There's no such thing as normal. There is such a thing as original.
Second life? Really? lol

I'm excited though man. Can't wait. I'm having a big demonstration of some of my work at my school in a week.

Seeing you make an ass of yourself on stage is too good of an incentive to pass up. I'll get a second life account just to watch that, then donate to people who'll use it to fuck with other users :hmm:

Keep in mind what I wrote:

Short, summary of what it is to you, an audience, and thanks.

And speak as if to someone familiar. Never use filler words if helpful, or syllabic interjections. Up to 3 seconds pause, if you lose your train of thought, seems natural and is alright.

Hope I am around to see this feed live. They used a frame of your film for the website header, so it must have been impressive to the people heading up this event.

Student films get lost in aimlessness, or over poignantosity. Dreary stuff, generally. Yours keeps a nice level of story that doesn't go down those two lame forks off the road of audience consideration into utter self absorbed hell. So be confident and you don;t need to explain too much about the actual film because it says most all of it on viewing.
I think that's 5pm where I am. if it is, I'll be watching. if not, I'm afraid I'll probably miss it out of time zone confusion.

Haha, you don't need Second Life to see it! Just go on the h3da website and stream it from there.
I think it'd be more like 11am for you unfortunately. I'll stick the animation online shortly afterwards though.
Thanks so much for all the feedback you've given me. I don't think the speech needs to be very epic but I'm pretty sure I know what to say now.
alright, good enough.
